Paypal & Nigeria: How to open Paypal Account that Receives Money

Paypal & Nigeria:How to open a Paypal account

It’s no news that Nigerian Paypal does not receive funds.

But…

Paypal is an online payment solutions company that offers simplified and secure online payment all over the world.

Funny enough…

Nigeria is not among the countries that can enjoy this particular dividend.

Of course, you can imagine why?

Maybe Nigeria as a country has already been blacklisted as a country full of individuals that are scammers.

Therefore, to make it look like we are in the same league with other countries, they have decided to get us an account that does not receive money.

Opening a Nigerian Paypal account, you can only make online payments (spend your money, but you can receive money).

You can send money to your loved ones abroad, buy goods and services all over the world, but you can get others to reciprocate this kind of love.

It does not just stop there,

Shopping online from Nigeria with your Paypal account also has restrictions.

GT-bank can allow you to spend no more than one hundred ($100) per month.

For banks like Access bank, FCMB, you can’t spend more than that amount with their normal ATM card.

With all these restrictions, how is this online payment solution doing justice to you and your money as a Nigerian?

Nigerians are hustlers… believe it or not!

The bottom line here is you can’t RECEIVE money. That's very serious don't you think?

Do you know that this strange phenomenon is a result of Nigerians been called internet scammers?

But you already know that don't you?

Nigerians are tired of not getting their hard-earned cash!

We as Nigerians are tired and always on the look-out for working ways to make money online, withdrawal the money, and pay some bills.

After all, you can also relate to the hustlers' Spirit, with the feeling of working for your money and not spending, don’t you?

The world has branded every Nigerian as scammers, opportunists, people with the mind of cutting corners.

We are not all the names the world called us! (Scammers, opportunist, go-getters, yahoo-yahoo boys, etc.)

There is no justification for the actions of a few Nigerians, nor this is a pleading call for attention!

Some of us are just frustrated by the actions of a few that have made Nigeria what it is today!

Believe it or not, this is the fact. There are some God-fearing Nigerians out there!

Unfortunately, some of us are forced to withdraw our hard-earned cash with brokers like

onlinenaira.

The commissions for some online money brokers are crazy.

But just because these online brokers want to make commissions off us, does not mean we can still hustle for more money.

Just because the actions of a few have affected over 100 million hustlers to earn an honest living online… you can’t stop the hustler's spirit.

It’s quite unfortunate don’t you think to want to stop Nigerians?

Well… I know it is even simple to want to agree with me!

That’s just the reality of a Nigerian hustler

This has resulted into…

Nigerians have been lured into securing and using fake Paypal account or spend some ridiculous amount trying to withdrawal dollars or pounds.

Unfortunately, even after been lured, you need a VPN to make a withdrawal.

These just mean spending money to get your own money, how sad?

why…?

Because it is illegal for a Nigerian to receive money via Paypal.

That's just cruel!

Unfortunately, its’ Nigeria's sad reality.

Can something be done about it soon?

Well, I can’t blame the world and its system, even though it’s myopic and ridiculous, there some sense to it.

Nigeria has been called and labeled the Scam Capital of the world, this far, it has led many to think Nigeria is a bad place.

  • Contrary to popular opinion, in Nigeria, there are still honest and hardworking Nigerians that deserve a medal for their actions.
  • I think you don’t have to look hard enough to find people that are honest and looking for their money.

Let’s begin…

What is Paypal?

Paypal is the biggest online payment system in the world!

And has been doing it’s best for so long to provide simplified and secure online payment solutions for many countries all over the world.

It provides payment solutions and transfer of funds for individuals, groups,  organizations, and for a merchant or an affiliate marketer.

The bottom line here is the transfer of money,  secure transactions over the internet, and goods and services are delivered.

Paypal works all over the world, even in Nigeria, however, not as fully functional as you think because there are exceptions.

In a country like Nigeria, you can only send money and use your linked Paypal account to make online payments.

But you can’t receive money.

This is the reality until a solution came along.

Things are changing for the better.

Now you can receive money via your Paypal in Nigeria

Paypal is generally accepted all over the world and it recorded billions of dollars in transactions yearly

It is very easy to use, the fastest, affordable, and most reliable medium for transferring and receiving money.

Although, Payza and Libertyreserve all perform the same functions.

Unfortunately, they are shut down for indulging in illegal activities, with the main reason been money laundry

Paypal in Nigeria

In the past, Nigerians do not have access to Paypal.  Until July 2014, Paypal became officially open to Nigerians.

Sorry guys…

Paypal full services are still not fully accepted in Nigeria for some flimsy reasons.

The change we are expecting is coming swiftly!

In light of the recent Coronavirus pandemic, Paypal teamed up with Visa to expand its’ service globally to allow individuals and cooperate bodies to receive money.

The recent development between Paypal and Visa is called Instant Transfer.

What is Paypal Instant Transfer and how does it Work?

This is the newest method of money transfer used by Paypal to curb how long it takes for delivering payment.

Instant Transfer is a payment method developed by Paypal to send money or make payments from your bank account instantly without delay.

You don’t have to wait for 2-3 business working days for them to make verification before clearing your payments.

Fortunately, despite all the improvement made by PayPal, the following conditions must be made

You need a confirmed US bank for Instant Transfer of money.

Your US bank must have a back-up funding source like a debit card or credit card register with the Paypal Account.

Without the back-up, no Instant Transfer, failure to reach the back-up source, no Instant Transfer.

Instant Transfer Minimum and Maximum limits

Like most of the financial transactions, there are limiters to curb the funds.

Instant Transfer has the following limiters;

For minimum transfer, the amount is $1.00

The maximum transfer amount per transaction is $5,000.00.

There is also a limiter on the amount of money you can Instant Transfer per day-$5,000.00, and can only make a maximum Instant Transfer of $5,000.00 per week and $15,000.00 per month.

The maximum transfer to banks per transaction is $25,000.00

Having these limiters seems to serve as a deterrent for over expensive and to avoid issues of money laundering.

Paypal is treading softly so that what happens to Payza should not befall her.

Can I Receive Money in Nigeria via Paypal?

YES! and NO.

Let’s consider NO!

Currently, in Nigeria, personal accounts do not support receiving money.

It is easy to open a Paypal account in Nigeria and connect the Paypal account with your Master-Card or Visa Card and get it verified.

You can use the account for the purchase of goods and services in Nigeria, and other parts of the world that accepts payment via Paypal, but you can’t receive payments.

This is the blunt and untainted truth about Paypal in Nigeria.

But that’s about to change for you for good!

But, if there is a means where you can RECEIVE money in Nigeria other than the method mentioned below, I will love to read it in the comment section of this blog.

YES!

This is quite unfortunate; in Nigeria, you can send money and buy goods online with your Paypal account.

For Paypal merchant accounts, you can receive payments from other parts of the world.

To do this, you MUST have a WEBSITE where you sell goods and services and a Paypal account attached to that website.

It is important to know that this service is available for Web4africa

This service is only available with Web4africa, what if you have a blog like my own and want to keep blogging on a free platform?

Then you must follow these simple steps below

Paypal Nigeria’s exchangers

First and always, as a Nigerian, it is unfair that we can’t withdrawal our hard-earned cash directly into our bank accounts without involving the above-mentioned method.

Therefore we have to employ the likes of onlinenaira to make a withdrawal of our Paypal money.

Don’t worry if you need to withdrawal your Paypal money and don’t know how or you are confused about the whole process, use the Contact Us button above or via our WhatsApp number above.

One must bear in mind that when exchanging USD to Naira or other currency.

One must consider Paypal standard charges, these charges always range between 1 to $3.4% of the money you are sending plus USD 0.30 for every amount you send.

Here are some of the benefits of having a verified Paypal account in Nigeria.

For people like me with a blog and providing other services, I would want to pay for services and also want people to pay for my services via Paypal.

But Paypal will not allow people to pay me via my Paypal address.

Apart from this messed-up attitude of Paypal, it has the following benefit.

You get to access cheap online gigs that pay via Paypal.

You can start international e-commerce and get your money via Paypal payment service.

With a verified Paypal in Nigeria, you can apply for affiliate networks that pay real and cool cash monthly to your bank account without being worried about money exchangers in Nigeria that are extorting people.

Does Paypal Sucks?

During research for this article, I came across a site called Paypalsucks

This site deals with a lot of complaints all over the world.

It is a site that is making a lot of noise so that eBay and Paypal can change what is happening in the world.

On a final note

For some unfortunate & undisclosed reasons, we can’t get paid via PayPal until we have a website or blog.

Therefore, it is high time for Paypal to make it a duty to Nigerians by reviewing their policies, rules, and regulations.

Nigeria also deserves the full option made available by Paypal to other countries.
